Fundraising Activities Annual Ladies' Golf Scramble Started in 2004, this tournament is now in its 7th year and is played at the Leonard Country Club (in our school district). It's always a full tournament and typically hosts 64 to 72 women. This event is held on the third Tuesday in July. Buck for a Basket A business or individual (the sponsors are announced at the game) agrees to pay $1 per point based upon cumulative score of both teams at half-time of the game. Additionally, one can also sign up to donate $10 for each successful three-pointer. This is a winter fundraiser. Example: Casselton vs Kindred - Half Time score: Casselton - 30 Kindred - 32 Business or individual pays Kindred DFS $62, an if signed up for three-pointers, each successful three-point shot adds $10 to the above $62. Phon-a-thon High school students call school district patrons asking them for a contribution to the Dollars for Scholars program. This fundraiser is typically held the Sunday afternoon of the NDEA (teachers) Convention in October. This is one of the two most succesful fundraisers we do annually. $1000 Suitcase Drawing This fundraiser is based on 100 raffle tickets sold at $20 a ticket. The winner of the drawing wins $1000 and our DFS chapter keeps $1000, which provides two scholarships. This is typically a spring fundraiser. Memorials Memorials are given at the time of funeral in memory of the loved one. Floats Kindred DFS participates in regional municipal parades trying to create awareness of who we are and what our mission is.  
2010 will mark the 7th anniversary of the Kindred Area Dollars for Scholars Womens Golf Scramble. It is held at the Leonard Country Club always on the third Tuesday in July. To date, the golf tourney is one of the two most successful yearly fundraisers. Conact any board member about playing. |
